SUE HUNTSue Hunt studied from 1978-81 at Canterbury College of Art (B.A.Hons Fine Art) and then from 85-87 (M.A. Fine Art) at Cardiff College of Art. She teaches at the School of Fine Art, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. She has exhibited in a large number of shows from 1995 to present including exhibitions at Mall Galleries, John Martin Gallery and CBAT, Cardiff as well as further afield in a joint exhibition in Dublin and studying and working in USA and Mexico.Sue Hunt paints, draws and etches still lifes. She uses plates, jugs and pieces of fruit and chooses the angle to work from. There are also hills and valleys, open spaces and close clusters and she focuses on the prescence of object as object, and paint as paint. Colours can be bold and bright or suave and subtle. She uses modest, valueless objects and sets them to become penetating observation of life itself through paint and composition. |
