JO DIXONJo Dixon trained at the Hammersmith College of Art and works as a professional artist in Devon.She is best known as a figurative artist, catching those silent,private moments when people reveal their innermost thoughts,hopes and fears.These are studies of the mind rather than portraits,showing the contrast between outer appearance and the more vulnerable inner psyche. She is also well known for her nude studies. In 2005 she was made an academician of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts. During 2007,she has exhibited widely in England,Scotland and Wales including the 2007 Autumn exhibition of the Royal West of England Academy,Bristol. She is listed in David Buckman's "Dictionary of British Artists since 1945. |
