JACQUELINE WILLIAMSJackie was born in Lincoln in 1962, and studied at the Gloucestershire School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools. She is a painter with a firm belief in the traditions of the artist's craft - good drawing, observation and a sound understanding of tonal values and colour. Ken Howard once said of her: Jackie's work is in the main stream tradition of British Painting in the twentieth century, from the Camden Town and Euston Road Schools through new English painters like Sickert and Steer a worthy follower of that greatest of English women painters, Gwen John. She is perhaps best known for her large interiors, but she also paints outdoor scenes including landscapes. |
